Isabel Marant SS20 Collection Review by Penny Karabey of Luxury Next Season for FashionWeek.Pro –
Paris, France – September 26th, 2019: Flashing lights signaled the start of the show for Isabel Marant’s Spring-Summer 2020 show. Spotlights flickered and illuminated the runway as the models walked. Marant’s mind was clearly not focused on Paris, but somewhere warmer for Spring-Summer. The collection was the designer’s usual youthful mix of bohemian and feminine. The show opened with a monochromatic beige look comprised of denim shorts with a matching top worn with a safari jacket, statement belt and intricately beaded white boots (perhaps a look I will recreate for my own street style with a bold handbag). Marant’s usual tribal inspirations were not lost, and found its way onto the runway in striped ponchos and belted pullovers. Supermodel Amber Valletta walked the show in a purple and white floral printed jumpsuit while Irina Shayk showcased a minidress in a variation of the same print. The collection in its entirety is a perfect vacation wardrobe for everything festivals to beach days. Flowy tops and distressed tees were paired with scalloped denim shorts and printed party dressed were belted with boots. All in all this collection was a combination of Isabel Marant’s “greatest hits” – showcasing exactly what makes her devotees love her.
