Today we’d like to introduce you to Penny Pinar Karabey.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Penny. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Luxury Next Season is a New York City based luxury fashion collective dedicated to bringing the rarest and most unique luxury fashion pieces to the New York Market. We source the most sought after luxury items from around the world for our clients. We have special relationships with some of the world’s top brands and through those relationships can get our hands on pieces others are not. As a business owner, I am proud that Luxury Next Season is known as a go-to for the trendiest and most exciting pieces in fashion. Our customers know that I do not sell anything I personally wouldn’t buy. My personal style is a way for clients to see how I style the pieces we stock, it gives them style inspiration and ideas on how to style the pieces they buy from us and have in their own closets. My clients trust my taste because they see that I am on the cusp of what is happening in fashion. I attend fashion shows around the world and have collaborated with top bloggers brands. This gives me incredible insight into what is happening and what I should bring to my customers.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The greatest obstacle in growing Luxury Next Season was getting exposure. Finding a creative way to reach consumers was a challenge at first. Instagram became our greatest asset. I began posting my daily outfits featuring pieces we sell as well as detailed pictures of the newest pieces we have in stock, and our following began to grow rather rapidly. Suddenly we had thousands of followers, many of whom began inquiring about items I was wearing. Using my personal style and sharing it through Instagram gave us the exposure we needed, and we have been growing steadily since.
Luxury Next Season – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I started Luxury Next Season because I saw a gap in the luxury market. It all started with my style. I have always enjoyed beautiful clothing, but my style is not common. I am not one to wear the classics. I often experiment with color, print, texture and silhouette. I like to buy from designers that push the boundaries and I was struggling to find a place to shop. I wanted to create a place for people like myself to shop and so I started Luxury Next Season with the goal that it becomes a place known as the go-to for exciting and unique fashion pieces.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Our customers deserve a great deal of credibility when it comes to the success of Luxury Next Season. We do not have basic relationships with our customers, a big part of our mission is to create and maintain a dialogue between our customers and us about both what we sell and what is happening in fashion, this way it gives us insight into what the consumers are looking for in the seasons to come. I spend several hours every day between email and Instagram corresponding with many of our customers. The relationships that we have built with them is what ensure Luxury Next Season’s success and growth. I take great pride in knowing that we are not just another place to buy a handbag; we have created a community.
